Somdej Phra Phutthachan Toh Monument

Many reffered to it as a temple, but in fact it is just an awesome monument park, sitting on 240,000 sqm of land, built in tribute of the renowned monk, famously known as Luang Phor Toh. Located in the town of Sikhio district of Nakhon Ratchasima province, and frequented by many Thai visitors, it provides a good location to escape the hussle of the city spending your day in a beautiful park filled with serenity and peace.

Sorapong Chatree who is a very famous Thai film actor, lead the funding and purchase of the land and construction of the monument park which also included donations from the devotees. This spectacular monumnet park is surrounded by beautiful gardens with exotic trees, bonsai, flowers, ponds and an artificial lake with a bridge crossing to the main building within which lays the impressive and huge golden statue of the revered monk Somdej Toh.

This statue of Luang Phor Toh which cost 9 million THB to build, measuring 8m wide and 13m high and weighing 61 tons, is said to be the largest replica of Luang Phor Toh in the world.

Opening hours from 0600 - 1800hrs, it can be reached easily traveling from Nakhon Ratchasima city center along Mirtraphat Highway towards Bangkok nearing Sikhio town on the right. Making a U turn after passing the park will lead you to the main entrance.
