Thailand has in recent years moved towards clean energy generations. And given its vast land with numerous mountains, one of this is obviously using windmill generators.
The largest of these to date is located in the northern province of Petchabun in the district of Khao Kho, which is also a favorite tourist area for the locals due to its cooling weather in the mountainous regions.
Situated 1,050 meters above sea level, the wind power station consists of 24 windmills and can supply 140 million units of power, or about 20 percent of the total demand, to the province. The station has indeed already become a tourist attraction with the authority constructing a road leading up to the wind turbine site to facilitate visitors and agriculturists in the vicinity.
View both sunrise and sunset amidst the windmill is indeed spectacular too!
With many stalls in the visitors' area selling local food and cultural wears and items, tourists there surely will be partially preoccupied with shopping and eating during their visits.
There is also a small recreational garden area with a SUPER mountian view. Surely you camera will start clicking non-stop when you are strolling in it. At the edge of the mountian is some resting huts for the customers of the small little wooden cafe.
Nothing beats drinking coffee while admiring the great mountianous views with the cooling wind blowing in your hair!!!
