Bua Tong (Mexican Sunflower) Field

Bua Tong field of Mae Hong Son province of northern Thailand will be in full bloom from November to December each year. Visitors are being welcomed with a sea of bright yellow flowers carpeting the entire hill. Being the biggest Bua Tong (wild sunflower) field in Thailand, the area of 500 Rais on the hill of Doi Mae U Kho, some 1,600 m. above sea level, the scenic charm of this place cannot be denied. Visit here and you can see the "land of yellow flower" and the charm the northern mountains in Mae Hong Son Province.

A very photogenic spot, this is primarily a Thai tourist scene, thus do not be surprised if you are to only one "Farang" or foreigner there. The flowering season is only about 2 months, thus proper planning to be there at the right time of the year is critical for the best phenomenon to be fully absorbed.

There is a main view point at the official entry to hill. One can admire the majestic view of the mountians in the front and the beautiful sea of yellow Bua Tong flowers at the back. You can alway go into the walk ways for every angles of your close up photos with the amazing flowers abound.
