Cesky Krumlov

After completing our tour of Prague, we proceeded the next day by shuttle bus to the UNESCO heritage town of Cesky Krumlov.

The journey was an easy arrangement by using a local well known van service for a price of about 30 euros and was a smooth ride. We are were so impressed and delighted by the service provided by the driver as well!

One do not have to worry about amensities if you are staying within the town as being a tourist attraction, eateries, cafes, convinients etc are all just within walking distance. We arrived at after about 2 hours at our hostel, the Penzion U Pavla, which is just a stone-throw from the Vltava river that flows through the town. With breakfast included, this is a cozy place to stay at when in Cesky Krumlov.

After settling ourselves into our rooms we started exploring the town for the next 2 days.

The river was full of activities.

And we reached the town square.

The most outstanding building in the town is the Cesky Krumlov Castle. It is surely a must visit attraction. "Used by previous Dukes of Krumlov as their residences, the castle's architectural standard, cultural tradition and expanse are rank among the most important historic sights in the central European region. Building development from the 14th to 19th centuries is well-preserved in the original groundplan layout, material structure, interior installation and architectural detail."

Situated on a hill, the entrance of the castle slopes upwards and thus as one gets deeper into the castle's inner ground, the view of the town from the castle becomes increasing spectacular.

Leading to an open verenda at a higher ground that gives a good 180 degrees bird-eye view of the town. This spot is so popular that we literally have to queue for our turn to be in the corner of the verenda where the view is at its best.

Bird-eye view of the castle and its surronding.

Tucked in a corner of the town square is the Mastal Resturant that serves great BBQ platters. The ambience is like dining in a tavern if you are to sit outside of the restuarant dining hall. We order one for 2 pax and it was good enough fill both our hungry stomachs. Service staff was very friendly and helpful as well.

We order a platter for 2 pax which is more than sufficient to fill our hungry stomachs. And the dark Budvar beer they served is simple awesome!

After breakfast on the 2nd day, we proceeded immediately to a vintage which our driver told us when we passed by it during the journey to our hostel. It is located by the road that turns into Cesky Krumlov and give another spectacular view of the town, from a different angle. Along the way shooting whatever nice any interesting views that we come across.

At this vintage point, one looks directly over the town from its main road entrance.

As we continue to roam around the town, we chanced upon another vintage point where we took our parting shots of the town.

We then proceeded to retire for our last day in beautiful town of Cesky Krumlov by having a light meal by the river, to reminisce the awesome sights and experince we had in this UNESCO Heritage site. Indeed worthy of its status!
