Our journey in Austria begins in Salzburg. However, time was short for us as we only have an afternoon there and could not make it to too many places. So we decided to just touch base with the few unique places that Salzburg is known for.
Salzburg is of course well known for being the external shooting set for the classic movie The Sound Of Music in 1964. And the town of Mondsee is one of them. Lake Mondsee which literally means Moon Lake in German and St Michael Basilica are the town's main attractions, both associated with the making of the movie.
Lake Mondsee
This lake is famous for it beautiful backdrop of the alps. The lake is a great place to spend the day in the breeze, under the sun while admiring the relaxing views.
And right across the road, the meadow where we were able to catch the all famous view of sort.
So we just have to have some fun ourselves there.
And the birdeye view there is also very amazing.
St. Michael's Church
And just behind the meadow is this all famous church where Marie married Von Trapp in the movie The Sound Of Music was filmed.
Salzburg Old Town
This is surely a place to visit when in Salzburg. With a rich heritage of where Salzburg came about, the Mozart Musuem is also located there.
An along the way we saw this shop selling chess game and with this beautiful set displayed. I just though of putting it here to share this beautiful craft work.
