A key activity when in Dubai is surely to have some fun in the dessert. So let's go for a Dessert Safari! How many chance in a lifetime can one does this ya?
Picking us up from our resort at Atlantis, The Palm in a 4x4 SUV, our dessert safari host drove us to the Al Sahra Dessert which is about an hours drive away. 1st activity on the schedule was Dune Bashing!!! However, upon entering the dessert ground, our host stopped his vehicle and went out of the vehicle to depressurized the wheels. An interesting fact to know when he later enlightened us that driving in the dessert sand requires soft types to ensure better grip of the ground and for enhanced safety.
And after this short stop, off we go for a roller coaster ride in the dessert!!!
How it felt like for a "Fast and Furious" dessert experience? AWESOME!!!
After about 30 minutes of fun, we pit stopped for some photos.
After some photography time, we are then whisked to Al Jabal Village, a dessert camp sort of for our dinners and camel riding!!!
Stepping into the dessert, I suddenly felt as if I was transported into the a scene of the movie of Genghis Khan where in the nights, they would dine to the music and performance in the dessert camps where they were. Experiences in the movies coming to life!
However, before dinner begins, let's go for our camel rides!!!
Fearing that my weight would be too heavy (honesty and concern matters ya? heehee) for the poor camel, I decided not to do it but rather film my wife doing her maiden ride which included some laughs and screams :)
And as our dinner begins, so does the performance!

After a day our in the dessert, we left the village and headed back to our resort.
