After breakfast we set off in our tour bus to Churchill Island, where we will visit the Heritage farm, see Koala and Penguins!
Churchill Island is the site where agriculture was 1st started by the European migrants in Victoria, thus holding an important place in the history of European settlement there. The farm has significant natural and cultural values with world-class wetlands, ancient Moonah trees, heritage hardens and historic building.
The restored farmhouse and cottages in Churchill Heritage farm provides a glimpse into the past lives of early Australian settlers and their farming practices, with the many scheduled programs.
Next up, the Koala Conservation Centre.
Koalas sleep through most part of their day. We were lucky to catch one up and active!
Time to go see penguins. The Penguin Parade is the most anticipated program as we literally see penguins coming back from the sea to their nest in the evening. Visitors were all seated at the gallery by the beach and we waited for batches and batches of penguins swimming back and crossing the beach up to their nests! Seeing it on TV many time but the life experiences beats it hands down!!! They are just so cute coming home!!! Unfortunately photography and video recordings are not allowed.
The day's activities ended with our delicious dinner at the restaurant in the visitors' centre. A chartered meal of fresh salads, juicy lemon fish, roosted meatloaves and BBQ skewers.
